Abstract
Two preterm neonates were referred to our institution, one with suspec ted oesophageal atresia and one with the definite diagnosis of oesopha geal atresia for further treatment. Diagnostic procedures identified a n iatrogenic perforation of the oesophagus which was caused by a feedi ng tube in both patients. The treatment Was based on broad-spectrum an tibiotic therapy and parenteral nutrition. The perforations heald with out long term sequelae.
