Abstract
Exact analytical expressions for the local interaction field produced by an infinite array of rectangular prisms are derived. For tablet-lik e prisms, the local interaction is positive for certain packing densit y; while for needle-like prisms, the local interaction is always negat ive. Moreover, local interaction is not a linear function of packing d ensity.
