Jj. Chaillout et al., MODELING OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAKES OF MOVING SUBMERGED BODIES IN STRATIFIED SEA-WATER, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 32(3), 1996, pp. 998-1001
Moving submerged bodies create wakes behind them. The motion of the se
a water, because of its conductivity, induces an electromagnetic pertu
rbation ((b) over right arrow, (e) over right arrow) in the earth magn
etic field <(B)over right arrow (T)>. In this paper, we propose a nume
rical modelling of this perturbation. The water velocity field V(x,y,z
) is first computed in two different cases : turbulent wake obtained u
sing a finite volume method, wave field by a perturbation method. Then
, the corresponding electromagnetic perturbation is obtained by solvin
g the Maxwell equations including the Lorentz term. For that, we use a
finite element method.
