Abstract
This paper presents the relationship between the various Preisach-base d scalar hysteresis models. The statistics of the interaction field co mputed by these models, the hierarchy of these models, and the corresp onding parametric identification techniques are discussed. This enable s the design engineer to determine which of the models provides suffic ient detail, yet is simple enough, to characterize the aspect of hyste resis that is of particular interest.
