Abstract
A new model of scalar static magnetic hysteresis based on the superpos ition of Krasnoselkii hysteresis of stop type is described. Unlike the magnetic hysteresis models known in literature, the present one natur ally implements the constitutive relationship H = H[B]. In this respec t it allows to formulate a field problem directly in terms of the vect or magnetic potential. In the present work the new model has been appl ied to study the one dimensional magnetic field diffusion in a hystere tic iron body by means of the Galerkin method.
