Abstract
This paper describes a new method for the 3-D computation of the perma
nent-magnet motor excited from the voltage source. The method has adva
ntages that the 3-D mesh as well as the driving electric circuit is ch
anged automatically according to the movement of armature. Our method
is applied to the rotatning analysis of the IEEJ model excited from th
e square pulse voltage source. The results calculated by the 3-d analy
sis are compared with the results by the 2-D analysis. The validity of
the new method is confirmed by the experiments.
