Ys. Sun et al., EFFORTS TOWARDS GAINING A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE REMOTE FIELD EDDY-CURRENT PHENOMENON AND EXPANDING ITS APPLICATIONS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 32(3), 1996, pp. 1589-1592
The paper begins with a brief summary of previous work done by the aut
hors on gaining a better understanding of the remote field eddy curren
t (RFEC) phenomenon and expanding the range of applications. It then i
ntroduces three new findings: 1. Modeling and experimental study of th
e RFEC phenomenon as observed from one side of both ferromagnetic and
non-ferromagnetic plates, 2. Numerical prediction of possible existenc
e of the RFEC phenomenon external to conducting tubes, 3. Numerical st
udy of its possible application in underwater target detection problem
