Abstract
The eight-membered chloro hafnium siloxane complex [Cl(2)HfOtBu(2)SiO( THF)(2)](2) 2 has been prepared by the reaction of hafnium tetrachlori de and tBu(2)Si(OSnMe(3))(2) 1. The X-ray single crystal structure of [Cl(2)HfOtBu(2)SiO(THF)(2)](2) is reported. The reaction of 2 with Me( 3)SnF in a molar ratio of 1:4 leads to the corresponding fluoro comple x 3. The reaction of [(C(5)Me(5))HfCl3] with the lithiated silanediol tBu(2)Si(OLi)(2) yields [(C(5)Me(5))ClHfOtBu(2)SiO](2) 4.
