Abstract
The authors report a novel digital optical switch that is based on pol ymer rib waveguides with large cross-sections. The switches use the hi ghly thermal stable polymer Cyclotene 3022(TM) [1] (benzocyclobutene) and show insertion losses of < 3dB at 1.3 mu m and an extinction ratio of > 20dB.
