Abstract
The authors demonstrate the highest reported repetion rate regeneratio n of an optical data stream, using a mode locked fibre ring laser for clock recovery, and an optical decision circuit based on non-linear po larisation rotation. Error ratio measurements of the regenerated 40Gbi t/s output confirm the fidelity of the technique.
