Abstract
We have experimentally demonstrated transmission of 800 fs solitons ov er 150 dispersion lengths of dispersion-shifted fibre. Experimental re sults clearly indicate that the use of readily available high power fi bre lasers operating at 1535 nm makes it possible to use Raman gain in a simple, all-fibre configuration and achieve a 100 Gbit/s bit rate i n a soliton transmission system.
