Abstract
Distortion owing to overmodulation of a directly modulated semiconduct or laser has been analysed by modelling the semiconductor laser as a s tatic limiter. The authors present some preliminary results on dynamic effects in overmodulation of semiconductor lasers and discuss the app licability of the static model.
