CONFLICT-MANAGEMENT IN WORKFLOW SYSTEMS

The article deals with conflicts which are caused by the activation of certain functions in workflow systems. We will propose technical mean s to regulate these conflicts, so called metafunctions. A scenario-bas ed field study examines the relevance of the metafunctions for conflic t-handling. The scenarios are based on potential conflicts related to access rights in workflow systems. It is assumed that similar conflict s can be found activating other functions of workflow systems as well. Therefore, an implementation of metafunctions is presented which can be applied to other functions of workflow systems, too.
