Abstract
Here, we report the nucleotide (nt) sequence of the cDNA encoding the sodium channel beta(1) subunit from rabbit (o beta 1). Cloning of the o beta 1 cDNA was accomplished by reverse transcription-polymerase cha in reaction using rabbit brain RNA as a template for cDNA synthesis. T he nt sequence of the o beta 1 cDNA predicts a 218-amino-acid polypept ide which is 96.3 and 97.3% identical to the beta(1) from human (h bet a 1) and rat (r beta 1), respectively.
