Distributed antennas have been suggested as a possible method of provi
ding reliable coverage for indoor wireless communication systems. A po
tential problem with them however is the possibility of increased chan
nel fading caused by interference between individual antennas in the d
istributed antenna. The authors present measurement and simulation res
ults of the fading characteristics of distributed antennas to exactly
determine whether they will play a significant role in the coverage pr
ovided, and how they will affect system design.
