A computerized end-column amperometric detector for capillary zone ele
ctrophoresis is constructed. The microelectrode is positioned at the e
nd of 25 mu m i.d. capillary by micromanipulator directly. The electro
de potential is controlled and the signal is sampled by the microcompu
ter. Application of the system to the separation and detection of NE,
IP and CAT is demonstrated. This system is also applied to investigate
the field-amplified injection in capillary electrophoresis with amper
ometric detection and the concentration limits of 0.45 similar to 0.65
nmol/L for DA, NE, E and IP are achieved.
