VIBRATIONAL-SPECTRA OF PHOSPHINE AND ARSINE IN THE GAS-PHASE, THE LIQUID-PHASE, AND IN THE SOLUTION OF LIQUEFIED ARGON

The IR spectra of phosphine and arsine in the gas phase, in the liquid phase and in liquefied argon solution have been investigated (spectra l range 400-5700 cm(-1)). The vibrational frequencies and the integrat ed absorption coefficients of the fundamental and overtone bands have been measured. The possibility of self-association of the hydrides in the liquid phase is discussed.
