MODERN TREATMENT OF HYPOSPADIA

The aim of this work was to discuss general ideas concerning the facto rs which should be taken into account for the treatment of hypospadia including : anatomy, preoperative work-up, analysis of the anatomic ty pe, patient status, search for an underlying more complex malformation . Precise indications for per and postoperative care should provide go od results. Two major ideas predomination in these recommendations: op erate early (at about 2 years) in a single procedure for both anatomic and psychological reasons. This latter point is particularly importan t. Operative technique is illustrated and described together with comp lications and their management.
