M. Volanthen et al., LOW-COHERENCE TECHNIQUE TO CHARACTERIZE REFLECTIVITY AND TIME-DELAY AS A FUNCTION OF WAVELENGTH WITHIN A LONG-FIBER GRATING, Electronics Letters, 32(8), 1996, pp. 757-758
A new technique for obtaining both time delay and reflectivity as a Fu
nction of wavelength within a long fibre Bragg grating is presented. A
narrowband wavelength-tunable reflector with a 0.18nm bandwidth is us
ed to select the interrogation wavelength, while optical coherence-dom
ain reflectometry is used to obtain the time delay with better than 2p
s accuracy.
