Abstract
The development or enhancement of alliances among universities, indust ry, and government is widely seen as a prescription for strengthening the competitiveness of regional and national economies. This article e xamines the interaction of university scientists and industrial scient ists in the Ontario Centres of Excellence and discusses whether the cr eation of these Centres should serve as a model for university-industr y research linkages.
