Lf. Lind et al., LINEAR-PROGRAMMING DESIGN OF FIR RAISED COSINE FILTERS WITH GREATER-THAN-100-PERCENT EXCESS BANDWIDTH, Electronics Letters, 32(5), 1996, pp. 436-437
The authors describe a design method for realising FIR linear phase ra
ised cosine filters with >100% excess bandwidth. Using linear programm
ing, the method approximates the ideal filter response in the frequenc
y domain while ensuring zero intersymbol interference (ISI) in the tim
e domain. II is shown that the method is capable of generating designs
closely matching the ideal raised cosine response; As an example, the
design of a 21-tap FIR filler with a roll-off factor of 1.2 is includ
ed.
