N. Brauner et al., ANALYTICAL SOLUTION FOR LAMINAR-LAMINAR 2-PHASE STRATIFIED FLOW IN CIRCULAR CONDUITS, Chemical engineering communications, 141, 1996, pp. 103-143
Many attempts made in modelling stratified two-phase flow for predicti
ng the operational flow characteristics(pressure drop, holdup, etc.) a
ssume mostly plane interface between the phases. Obviously, the intera
ction between the stratified layers and the resulting flow characteris
tics may be significantly affected by the configuration of the interfa
ce. Moreover, complete analytical solutions for stratified flows in ci
rcular conduits are not yet available even for laminar flows with plan
e interface and most of previous studies resort to average two-fluid m
odelling. The present study presents analytical solutions for lamina;
stratified two-phase flows in pipes with plane and curved interfaces.
