Abstract
The design and the experimental results of a broadband multilayer micr ostrip array for radar systems are presented in this article. An assoc iation of different types of power dividers is used in the feed networ k to achieve the required magnitude and phase distributions. The tee j unction, which is the main discontinuity in the used power divider, is rigorously analyzed and optimized with the use of a full-wave approac h. The developed design technique is applied to the Wilkinson power di vider, and the obtained results ale compared with measurements. The me thod is extended to design a feed network for a linear array of 14 ele ments where good performances are obtained over 20% bandwidth. (C) 199 6 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
