Abstract
In order to evaluate the gain in properties which can be obtained by f ast cooling at the exit of the hot strip mill, an industrial prototype has been developed in two stages : study of the technological aspects with an experimental equipment, metallurgical study with an industria l prototype. Details are given on this second stage : technological an d thermal characteristics of the equipment.
