I. Urspruch, THERAPEUTIC WORK WITH ACTORS AT THE THEATER THERAPY OF DYNAMIC PSYCHIATRY AND IN THE RUSSIAN THEATER TRADITION BY STANISLAVSKY, Dynamische Psychiatrie, 29(1-2), 1996, pp. 69-77
Theatre like dancing, music and art is, as a means of expression, as o
ld as mankind and has been used in early medicine. The author has been
practising therapeutic theatre in her outpatient therapeutic practice
for 13 years according to the concept of Gunter Ammon's Dynamic Psych
iatry. It is a non-verbal possibility for patients in extension of the
ir analytic therapeutic process to develop unconscious fantasies, wish
es, feelings, experiences and future theatrical performance of literar
y play on stage. In the history of theatre the Russian artist, directo
r and theatre manager Stanislavsky developed in an exemplary manner a
system, whereby his learner-artists could learn every aspect of artist
ic performance while at the same time being placed in a position to fu
lfill their role as whole person and as a result to play our of the un
conscious. The author places her therapeutic theatre alongside the dra
matic art of Stanislavsky on drama in relationship and regards it scie
ntifically on the basis of the creativity-concept of Gunter Ammon.
