Sr. Andrews et Fm. Harris, AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE DOUBLE-IONIZATION OF HYDROGEN-SULFIDE TO TRIPLET ELECTRONIC STATES OF THE DICATION, Chemical physics letters, 253(5-6), 1996, pp. 403-406
A double-charge-transfer spectroscopy study of hydrogen sulphide has b
een carried out, and six double-ionization energies to various electro
nic states of H2S2+ measured. Because of the conservation of spin mult
iplicity in the double-charge-transfer reactions which are central to
this type of spectroscopy, acid the use of OH+ as the projectile ion,
tripler states of H2S2+ were populated. This was confirmed by the good
agreement between the measured double-ionization energies and publish
ed calculated values for transitions to triplet states of H2S2+.
