Abstract
Free-ion yield in liquid krypton has been calculated at low LET as a f unction of the external field according to a re-encounter theory recen tly proposed by the author. Comparison with experimental results revea ls k(r)/k(D) approximate to 0.22 at 120 K, where k(r) is the specific rate of electron-ion recombination and k(D) is the corresponding Debye rate. Encounter reaction efficiency for electron-ion recombination is found to lie in the range 0.08-0.11, consistent with initial radial s eparation of thermalized electrons between 3000 and 6000 nm.
