Abstract
A solution of the incompatibility problem in three-dimensional anisotr opic elasticity is derived for the case that the incompatibility tenso r has isotropic symmetry. To that end an infinitely extended linear el astic anisotropic medium is assumed. Under these conditions the intern al stresses are obtained by pure differentiations from the correspondi ng fourth-order stress function tenser. This result is then used to ex press the internal stress tensor as a convolution of the incompatibili ty tensor and the elastic Green's function tenser.
