J. Stix et al., MAJOR AND TRACE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF 15 JAPANESE IGNEOUS REFERENCE ROCKS BY XRFS AND INAA, Geostandards newsletter, 20(1), 1996, pp. 87-94
Fifteen Japanese igneous reference rocks have been analyzed by X-ray f
luorescence spectrometry and instrumental neutron activation analysis
for major and trace elements, Agreement between measured and accepted
values is generally favourable with, however, several exceptions, Smal
l systematic discrepancies are noted for MgO, Na2O, Sr, Th, Eu, and Lu
, which are likely the result of differences in calibration and/or ana
lytical techniques, Zn generally shows poor agreement, suggesting that
the rocks are not well characterized for this element.
