Wl. Cameron et al., SIMULATED POLARIMETRIC SIGNATURES OF PRIMITIVE GEOMETRICAL SHAPES, IEEE transactions on geoscience and remote sensing, 34(3), 1996, pp. 793-803
Polarimetric signatures of two primitives shapes (dihedral and edge) a
re simulated using high-frequency electromagnetic scattering methods.
Signatures are predicted for a variety of orientations of the shapes.
Polarimetric responses are analyzed using a polarization scattering ma
trix decomposition developed by Cameron and Leung [1], [2]. It is show
n that symmetric scatterer responses can be represented as points cont
ained in the unit disc of the complex plane. The simulation shows that
the polarimetric responses of the primitive shapes are remarkably sta
ble as the shapes are rotated about various axes.
