Abstract
Heart, heart-lung, and lung transplantation play important roles in th e therapy of certain patients with end-stage heart or lung disease. Co mplications are similar to other allografts, in many respects, but uni que in terms of the degree of arteriopathy developing in heart transpl ant patients and bronchiolitis obliterans complicating transplanted lu ngs. Despite these difficulties and some Limitations in organ function , recipients of these grafts generally enjoy remarkable rehabilitation .
