Ap. Mehrotra et al., DETERMINATION OF BISMUTH AND ANTIMONY AFTER EXTRACTION FROM HALIDE MEDIA WITH TRIPHENYLPHOSPHINE OXIDE, Indian journal of chemistry. Sect. A: Inorganic, physical, theoretical & analytical, 35(6), 1996, pp. 530-532
Triphenylphosphine oxide dissolved in toluene has been used for the ex
traction of bismuth and antimony from halide media. After stripping fr
om the organic phase, antimony and bismuth have been determined by pot
assium iodide and thiourea methods respectively. The optimum extractio
n conditions have been ascertained. Log-log plots indicate the probabl
e extractable species to be MX(3).2TPPO. The method has been applied f
or the determination of the studied metals in spiked samples leaded br
ass and leaded gunmetal.
