F. Auzel et al., A NEW ER3-DOPED VITREOUS FLUORIDE AMPLIFICATION MEDIUM WITH CRYSTAL-LIKE CROSS-SECTIONS AND REDUCED INHOMOGENEOUS LINE-WIDTH(), Optical materials, 5(1-2), 1996, pp. 75-78
Through a careful hear, treatment of an Er3+-doped ZrF4-based fluoride
glass a transparent vitroceramic is obtained with the particular prop
erty of having the Er3+ active ion only within the single microcrystal
line phase. This allows to encompass a new type of optical amplificati
on medium with emission cross-section increased by 100% showing crysta
l-like inhomogeneous line width.
