The aggregation and sedimentation stability of water-alcohol boehmite
suspensions was studied. The aggregation stability of a suspension was
shown to decrease substantially at increased concentrations of isoamy
l alcohol. On the basis of electrokinetic and adsorption measurements,
it was established that the aggregation stability of water-alcohol bo
ehmite suspensions is determined predominantly by an adsorption-solvat
ion factor.
