Abstract
A number of Cd-x(CN)(y) building blocks in the multi-dimensional supra molecular structures we have developed, some of which have mineralomim etic features, have resemblance to CH4, C2H6. CMe(4), -(CH2-)(infinity ) etc., due to the structural features of the Cd-x(CN)(y) as the entit ies built by linkage of the coordination tetrahedra. Better understand ing of these complicated 1D, 2D and 3D supramolecular structures may b e attained on the analogy of organic alkane-like structures.
