Abstract
This article reviews the process of early embryonic development in hor ses and five methods of evaluation the viability of equine embryos. Th ese are (1) morphologic assessment; (2) development culture; (3) metab olism of fluorescent substrates; (4) fluorescence of dead cells; and ( 5) metabolic tests.
