Abstract
We present IUE spectroscopy and optical photometry of the active late type star AU Mic. The UV spectroscopy allow us to measure the chromosp heric and transition region line fluxes. No detectable variations attr ibutable to rotational modulation were evident in either the chromosph eric lines or optical bands. We have produced an emission measure curv e for the quiescent state of AU Mic, which spans a temperature range 4 .0 less-than-or-equal-to log T(e) less-than-or-equal-to 7.6 when coupl ed with previous X-ray flux measurements. The quiescent radiative loss es per unit surface area over the above temperature range is almost-eq ual-to 8 10(7) erg cm-2 s-1.
