Abstract
T cell-mediated immunity plays an important role in the defense agains t human papillomavirus (HPV) associated cervical cancer as evident fro m data of the etiology of the virus, several animal models and clinica l data. This review addresses the most recent observations in this fie ld which have led to the first clinical trials that immunotherapeutic intervention in induction of HPV specific T-cell responses.
