A CHIRAL 1-AZA-1,3-BUTADIENE TRICARBONYLIRON COMPLEX AS FE(CO)(3)-TRANSFER REAGENT FOR THE ENANTIOSELECTIVE COMPLEXATION OF 1,3-DIENES

The 1-aza-diene 3 obtained from 3-benzylidene camphor 1 and p-anisidin e 2 upon complexation with iron carbonyls provides the chiral tricarbo nyl iron transfer reagent 4. Ligand exchange with prochiral cyclohexad ienes 5 gives optically active tricarbonyl iron complexes with up to 6 4 % ee.
