Abstract
A new type of the laser resonator, the unstable resonator with a stabl e resonator core, is proposed. The simple analysis using Kirchhoff dif fraction equation revealed that this resonator is suitable for the low gain, large aperture laser medium such as the chemically pumped oxyge n-iodine laser.
