The authors propose an original method to determine the curvature unde
r bending of a reinforced concrete rectangular cross-section subjected
to static flexural loading. They propose using a behaviour law drawn-
from the theory of linear elasticity coupled with an isotropic damage
theory to model the behaviour of concrete under monoaxial compression.
Their equation offers very close accuracy and also greatly facilitate
s the resolution of this problem. This results in quicker computer pro
cessing, saving considerable time in the non-linear physical calculati
on of the behaviour of reinforced concrete hypostatic beams, especiall
y for checking the ultimate limit state or for estimating their reliab
ility by probabilistic methods.
