Yd. Song et Tl. Mitchell, ACTIVE DAMPING CONTROL OF VIBRATIONAL SYSTEMS, IEEE transactions on aerospace and electronic systems, 32(2), 1996, pp. 569-577
The problem of vibration suppression in large flexible space structure
(LFSS) is investigated. Based on the structure property of LFSS, an a
ctive damping strategy is proposed to effectively attenuate the critic
al vibrations of the structure subject to modeling uncertainty and ext
ernal disturbance. Control algorithms are derived with the aim of supp
ressing both the vibrating magnitude and vibrating rate to an acceptab
le level. It is shown that the strategy exhibits robust and adaptive p
roperties and is truly model-independent, The novelty of the proposed
approach lies in the fact that it is fairly easy to set up the strateg
y and the overall computation involved is much less than any other str
ategies available to date. A two-bay truss is used to verify the valid
ity of the proposed approach.
