Differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) studies have been carried out
in an attempt to explain the composition dependence of the thermal cr
ystallization behaviour of CuxGe15Te85-x glasses. It is seen that thes
e glasses exhibit a single glass transition and single-stage crystalli
zation on heating. The glass transition temperature, crystallization t
emperature and the activation energy for crystallization are each foun
d to exhibit an anomaly at around the composition x = 5. The anomalies
observed in the thermal properties at x = 5 can be associated with ri
gidity percolation.
