The propagation of a dicluster-ion (a pair of closely situated ions) b
eam through a system consisting of two thin foils is considered in thi
s paper. The effect of wake fields on the distribution of ions Eying o
ut from a foil in the initial beam direction is analysed, as well as t
heir effect on the number of accelerated and retarded ions registered
by the detector. The increase in the measurement efficiency of the wak
e fields is discussed.
