Abstract
Oligomers with poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) containing organosil ane extremities were prepared by reacting an alpha-allylic oligomer of PBT with silanethiols or with silanes. The alpha-allylic oligomer of PBT was synthesized by condensation of allyl alcohol, 1,4-butanediol a nd terephthaloyl dichloride. All the oligomers were characterized by m eans of proton nuclear magnetic resonance, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, size-exclusion chromatography, gas chromatography and hi gh-performance liquid chromatography. Their thermal properties were al so investigated.
