Abstract
The reactions of bis(silyldiazomethyl)polysilanes la-e with elemental sulfur have been carried out. 1,2,4-trithiolanes 2a-c were obtained as the only isolable products. The reaction with elemental selenium furn ished olefin 10 and its derivatives 8 and 9, other than 1,2,4-triselen olane (7a,b,d). Addition of DBU (1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene) c aused desilylation at the bridgehead position of bicyclic 1,2,4-trisel enolanes (11a,b, 12 and 13).
