Abstract
The annealing behaviour of an Al-6 wt-% Ni alloy containing a dispersi on of second phase particles has been studied. It is shown that for a particle diameter of 0.3 mu m, annealing takes place by extended recov ery. However, for a particle diameter of 1.7 mu m, discontinuous recry stallisation occurs. The relationship between continuous and discontin uous annealing phenomena is discussed, and measurements of the particl e limited subgrain and grain diameters are compared with theory.
