Abstract
We study the statistical moments of intensity and log intensity for wa ves in three-dimensional random media with pure power-law spectra. Res ults from both asymptotic calculations and numerical simulations are p resented for an incident plane wave through multiple phase screens wit h a power-law index of 1.7. An improved asymptotic scheme is applied t o the asymptotic calculation. This scheme reorganizes the conventional strong-scattering series into a new series that converges more rapidl y. The first-order term in the new series is often sufficient for quan titatively useful answers in the strong-scattering regime.
