Abstract
Energy levels of the Schrodinger equation for a double-well potential V(x,y; Z(x)(2), Z(y)(2), lambda) =-Z(x)(2)x(2) - Z(y)(2)y(2) + lambda[ a(xx)x(4) + 2a(xy)x(2)y(2) + a(yy)y(4)] in a two-dimensional system ar e calculated using the Hill determinant approach for several eigenstat es and over a wide range of values of the perturbation parameters (lam bda, Z(x)(2), Z(y)(2)). Some of the results calculated by the Hill det erminant approach are compared with those results produced by the inne r product technique.
