Abstract
Using laser cooled samples of Rb-85 and Rb-87 in a magneto-optical tra p, high resolution spectroscopy of the two-photon transitions 5S(1/2)- 5D(3/2), 5S(1/2)-5D(5/2) and 5S(1/2)-7S(1/2) have been investigated us ing the output from a mode-locked titanium sapphire laser. The hyperfi ne constants for the 7S terms of both isotopes have been measured with improved accuracy.
